ARTIST INFO
Music composer and sound designer Matthijs Vos, born in Greece, lives and works in the Netherlands. Although his background is in classical music, Matthijs’s style is extensive today – ranging from contemporary classical to ambient and techno, crossover and world music. His work has been mainly for leading theatre and dance companies in the Netherlands, e.g. Appeltheater, Nationale Toneel and Nederlands Dans Theater. Matthijs’s interest has now broadened to include the entertainment industry.
Who the f is Matthijs Vos?
Until now I have been working for stage plays in the Netherlands, composing music and sound design. This music and sound design is played back during each show. It means I am used to compose, produce, mix and master my work. Therefor I use my own private studio, home based but meeting professional audio standards. Even last year I composed for the Cherry Orchard, a play written by Anton Chekhov. The show is performed by a local Dutch theater company, the Nationale Toneel. Some years ago a music industry veteran said to me I should join MIDEM, worlds biggest music business fair. So I did twice, in 2008 and 2009. There I met an other industry veteran, California based. He said to me: ‘One day you should compose for feature film’. So here I am presenting my music and sound design towards the ‘Industry’. I take great care about my web site.
